Cascina Assiolo sits on the edge of the village of Prunetto, high in Italy's Alta Langa.  We fell in love with our panoramic views of the Bormida Valley and the Ligurian Alps.

In Spring, nature explodes around and our native and visiting birds are most active. In summer, swifts and bee eaters swoop overhead; butterflies love the surrounding meadows. After dark, hear the "Assiolo" and watch our resident dormice use the telephone wires as their personal highways. And for a few magical weeks in early summer, our meadow is home to fireflies.  In autumn, you are in the right place if you are a lover of mushrooms and truffles. In winter, the skies are so clear you that can see the Matterhorn and the world so quiet you can hear yourself breathe.

On a woodland walk, you might spy deer or wild boar, and, if you are very lucky, you may get a glimpse of the Bormida valley's wolf pack.

We have an apartment and double rooms which can be rented independently or all together.
